Ice cream cone rainbow cupcakes

Rian really wanted Rainbow colored cup cake cones to take for her end of year school party.
These were quite the ordeal.  I had to make them twice. Ugh! I thought I was being all cool making them ahead of time the night before. Not thinking, I put them in the fridge to frost early in the morning.  Reminder to all, cones do not fare well in the fridge over night.  So I sent her to school with the mini cupcakes and ran to the store to by more stuff to make some more before the party started.  I went to the store as fast as I could and got home, only to find out I forgot to buy the cones.  Aghh!  There was way to many things going on.  I finally got all the ingredients and got to school in time for the party.  phew!

Here is how they turned out~

End of the year class gifts

We made this one simple. I bought some fun bubble gum and put a cute note on it

For my 4 year old we found this cute printable here

For my 2nd grader my husband helped me make this one.

Every one likes gum and we had to make another school treat for the class room party.  So we thought we should keep the sugar to a minimum.  haha!  That is kind of hard for me but I am working on it.  :)

Have a great day!

End of the year teacher gift

Wow, these last couple of weeks have been crazy!  I am glad the kids are out of school now.  There was just way to many things going on.  Yikes!  Here are the gifts that we gave to the girls teachers.  I actually came up with this one on my own.  I bought a cute lantern (they had cute colors at target) then wrapped up a Target gift card to put inside.
The note on the outside said:
Thank you for helping my light shine this year!

We had really great teachers this year that helped the girls feel so comfortable and loved in a new school.  Thank you~

Hope you have a great Summer!

Softball end of season party!

Today was the softball end of season party and I offered to bring cupcakes.  So I decided to do something fun again.  Here is my attempt at making a glove with some softballs.  Then I put it on a green back ground to resemble grass.  We also added the team name and thanks to the coach but my camera died before I could get a photo so these will have to do.  Pretty funny!

The team had a softball carnival yesterday and Rian got a prize for catching all 3 pop fly's and tied for sprinting to first base.  I think she had a good time.

Have a great day!

Rainbow Tulips

Tulips are my favorite flower.  They make me smile.  So awhile back Rian kept begging me to get some white roses and put them in water with food coloring to see if they would change colors.  Well since Tulips are my favorite and we were going to pick some up for there teachers for May Day we decide to get some white ones for our experiment.

Here are the white tulips set up in the rainbow colored water

About a week or so later you can see that the flowers did change color.  Not all the way but it was pretty fun and the girls got a kick out of it.  They would check everyday to see if they had changed.

You can never have enough Tulips to make you smile.  This made us all smile!

Happy May Day! (In June)

Pool Party

So, it gets HOT here in Virginia and we have joined the pool.  Tonight they are having a family pool party with a band and everything.  It should be fun.  Everyone is supposed to bring a dessert or appetizer. We could not pass up bringing a dessert.  The girls and I decided to bring pool party cupcakes. We got this idea from several places on pintrest and our friend Britta.   Here is our version of Teddy grahams floating in lifesavers playing with beach ball bubble gum.   We needed to have drink umbrellas but I forgot them when I went to the store.  These will have to do.  We will make them with umbrellas next time.  Enjoy~

Have a great day!
