New BABY, any day now!

While we were home for the summer I co-hosted and baby shower with my SIL Reanne for our SIL Nellie.  Reanne was the brains behind the shower, I was just there to help make desserts and get the party ready.  It turned out beautiful!  Reanne had been working for weeks painting and creating things for beautiful vintage baby shower!  Enjoy~

Reanne made these adorable lanterns

Such a cool idea! They turned out great.  My (fairy) godmother ended up painting almost everyone. She is amazing and so talented that we begged her to do ours too.  She was tired by the end of the day!  Thank you Lindy!

Elle's 5th Birthday Rainbow Style

Well this is LIKE the 5th party for this sweet and sassy 5 year old.  This little girl has been partying all summer.  She shared a birthday party with her cousin Chet. ( I will post that birthday party soon.)  Then she had her real birthday so we went to Absolute Air Park and out to eat!  Then when we came back home and we celebrated with the Rainbow Spa Birthday.  All the girls got their nails painted and made their own bath salts.  Then on to cake and the Pinata.  I guess that is only 3 but if feels like it has been 5. :)

So here is the 5th Birthday...... Rainbow Style
I made these cakes from a tin can!  Pretty crazy but I think they turned out pretty cute! I got the idea here.  I made them using only one can.  I needed to have 7 so that I could have cooked them all at the same time. I guess you live and learn. When they came out of the can they had a little brown around the edges so I took a round cookie cutter and trimmed the edges so that the color was more vibrant.

I loved this idea I found here to take pictures of the birthday girl in front of a rainbow balloons.

Like I said, she is a pretty sassy 5 year old!

Fruit Plate
This was supposed to be in the shape of a Rainbow but my husband made the kids lunch the day of the party and they ate all the strawberries so I did not have enough to make the rainbow.  I guess it was good that they had something healthy!

Rainbow Twizzlers and Rainbow popcorn so yummy!  Found the fun idea here

You have to have Rainbow Skittles

Happy Birthday Elle!

Enjoy

Have a great day!

Oh, what a summer! 4th of July Late...

It has been awhile.  The day after the 4th of July my girls and I went to WA for the summer.  We had a great time.  Now we are home and trying to get back into a routine.  I have a few things from the summer that I would like to share.  All we did was party the whole time we were there.  It was so much fun!

Before we left my husband and his co-worker were requesting some treats so I thought I would put the red white and blue spin on the chocolate covered pretzels and peanut butter Ritz cracker cookies!

Here is how they turned out!

We also had a block party for the 4th of July. It was so much fun! It was sooo Hot!!!! Oh my goodness.  We brought red white and blue themed tall cupcakes.  I found this fun new cupcake pan at IKEA.

Red White and Blue Strawberries

Watermelon on a Popsicle stick!

We had a great 4th of July at the pool diving off the diving board and Elle was even in a cannon ball contest. Then tons of fun with the neighbors!  Hope you all had a great 4th of July!

Ice cream cone rainbow cupcakes

Rian really wanted Rainbow colored cup cake cones to take for her end of year school party.
These were quite the ordeal.  I had to make them twice. Ugh! I thought I was being all cool making them ahead of time the night before. Not thinking, I put them in the fridge to frost early in the morning.  Reminder to all, cones do not fare well in the fridge over night.  So I sent her to school with the mini cupcakes and ran to the store to by more stuff to make some more before the party started.  I went to the store as fast as I could and got home, only to find out I forgot to buy the cones.  Aghh!  There was way to many things going on.  I finally got all the ingredients and got to school in time for the party.  phew!

Here is how they turned out~

Have a great day!

End of the year class gifts

We made this one simple. I bought some fun bubble gum and put a cute note on it

For my 4 year old we found this cute printable here

For my 2nd grader my husband helped me make this one.

Every one likes gum and we had to make another school treat for the class room party.  So we thought we should keep the sugar to a minimum.  haha!  That is kind of hard for me but I am working on it.  :)

Have a great day!

End of the year teacher gift

Wow, these last couple of weeks have been crazy!  I am glad the kids are out of school now.  There was just way to many things going on.  Yikes!  Here are the gifts that we gave to the girls teachers.  I actually came up with this one on my own.  I bought a cute lantern (they had cute colors at target) then wrapped up a Target gift card to put inside.
The note on the outside said:
Thank you for helping my light shine this year!

We had really great teachers this year that helped the girls feel so comfortable and loved in a new school.  Thank you~

Hope you have a great Summer!
